Not a boxed version, but do I care? Anybody know if it is the same thing? Please advise, if you do know.
So glad I didn't buy it almost 3 weeks ago! Looks like the full version with "Card and Activation Code".
The other programs are Raw Therapee 4.2 and SilkyPix Developer 4.3.ī&H Photo has what looks to be the full version of Corel AfterShot Pro 2 for just $19.99 and that seems like a great deal, considering it's $79.99 regular price. I'm finding it easier to use than two other programs I'm checking out at the same time.
I decided to give Corel AfterShot Pro 2 (trial version) a spin and really like it. Since I plan to shoot in RAW format, I wanted to find software that would let me open the RAW files and manipulate them.
Happy though, to be putting the old lens back in use.
It will be set up on a tripod, so we'll figure out how to shoot with it, knowing we cannot use all the automatic features of the camera with the old lens. We planned to use the old Minolta 50mm MD lens on it for 2D photography, fine art originals photographed for reproductions/Art Prints. We just went for a good deal on a camera that looked to be in decent shape, figured we could deal with the Software later, if we needed it. Got a camera that was used, but like new condition. We kept the Minolta X700 with the 50mm lens.Ībout last Christmas, we decided to move up to a better digital camera and now are the happy owners of a Panasonic Lumix GMC-G5. Moved up to digital cameras about 15 years ago, I think. We've owned a couple of Canon AE1's and a Minolta X700. But you don’t have to abandon Adobe to use AfterShot Pro: Not only can it integrate directly with Photoshop, if you choose, but its file-based system lets you avoid importing images into a catalog-a quick, lightweight advantage for some users.Well, I'm new here. However, Corel, which is not as prevalent in the creative Mac marketplace as it is on Windows, still has a nice competitive formula in AfterShot Pro that’s impressive and complete. It’s not only that the Corel package is not a subscription-Lightroom, as one of the very few Adobe photo packages that can still be purchased as a perpetual license, doesn’t require a subscription either. Why this matters: Competition is always a good thing, and Corel’s AfterShot Pro is a viable alternative to an increasingly dominant Adobe Lightroom. You can both access and edit existing lens profiles or create and load your own to use and share with other photographers. Lens corrections for those currently supported by AfterShot let you correct a variety of lens distortions. Preview and purchase creative presets right in the app. A new camera profile updater keeps you informed of when new cameras are added. Similarly, a new plugin manager (offering both free and for-purchase plugins) lets you seek and load plugins and updates within the app.
The app lets you browse, preview, and download both free and paid presets without leaving the program. When you need a new filter, you can consult the in-app Image Preset Library. Get rid of extraneous objects, facial blemishes, or other imperfections with the Blemish Remover tool. After selecting the tool, a black circle indicates the area and a red circle points to the sampled fix. The new tool’s circle, brush, polygon, and freehand tools ease portrait improvements and clean up dust, spots, smudges, and extraneous objects. The new Blemish Remover tool is specifically designed for facial touchups, but it can also work on a range of images to blot out all kinds of imperfections. The Highlight Recovery Range slider offers more refined control.Ī new algorithm is designed for more highlight recovery.
A new algorithm that powers the update helps the app expose increased raw file data. Add image or text watermarks to all your photos to prevent theft.ĪfterShot Pro 3 also offers enhanced highlight recovery that helps you get more of the detail and tone from overexposed parts of your photos.
